Tried and Tested: The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

I've been using The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil (£10) for about two weeks and I'm ready to share my thoughts.

This is cleansing oil is fantastic. It's just as good as everyone says, maybe even better! The consistency is very thin and fluid. I know that sounds obvious but the oils I've used tend to be thicker and heavier. Because it's very emollient, it works brilliantly at removing makeup. Whether it's heavy or light makeup, this will break down every last trace with little to no effort. I tend to take a pump and a half to do my entire face and eyes. I rub it on dry skin and remove it with a damp face cloth.

If you don't wear makeup, this is still a great cleanser. I've been using as my morning cleanser to test out how well it works used on the skin. It's very good. It doesn't strip the skin but it doesn't leave behind a film. I would say that you should ignore what it says on the bottle though. Don't wash it off. Your best bet is to remove it with a damp face cloth because at the end of the day, it's still an oil. When I use it as an actual cleanser, I use about half a pump for my entire face.

It does have a fairly strong scent. Very floral. It doesn't linger but if you are sensitive to scents, give it a whiff before you buy it. I personally like the smell. It makes it really relaxing to use.

My only slight gripe with this is the packaging. It has a pump which is great, but it does tend to squirt all over the place. Even when I gently pump out the product, it still ends up all over my clothes! It's not a huge fault, it's just something to be aware of!

Overall, I absolutely recommend it. It's not crazy expensive and I think would suit all skin types.

What's your favourite cleansing oil?
