My Favourite Contouring Products

Contouring is still having its moment in the sun. It's literally everywhere and everyone has their own take on it. Today I'm going through my favourite contouring products. Quick disclaimer, I prefer a more subtle contour and typically just use a touch under the cheekbones. I also like my contour products to be ashy and have a grey undertone. If you'd like to know how to contour, I have a Back to Basics post here

Natural Collection Eyeshadow in Crushed Walnut: (bottom left)

This is the first product I purchased for contouring courtesy of Kaushal from Kaushal Beauty. Crushed Walnut is such a fantastic contour colour for medium skin tones. It blends really nicely and has the perfect amount of ashiness. It also doubles as a brow powder.

Urban Decay 'Naked' Eyeshadow: (bottom right, 3rd pan)

I call this the perfect contour for fair skin. It's very neutral being neither too cool or warm or too brown or orange. It's incredibly natural and blends like a dream. I can get away with this if I'm after an extremely subtle contour.

Maybelline Master Sculpt in Medium to Dark: (top right)

Despite its name, I don't think this contour is very dark as it just about shows up on my skin. However, I've included it in this list because the formula is worth the extra hassle to make it work. It's unbelievably buttery and is one of the easiest products to blend. If you find contouring tricky, then this is the product for you because you just can't go wrong with it.

Barry M Contour Kit: (top left, last pan)

The contour shade in this is spot on. Not only is it perfectly ashy, but it's also a deep enough shade for medium to dark skin tones. The texture is very velvety but it does kick up a lot of powder so it's important to tap off the excess. Aside from that, it's a great contouring kit.
