Review: Bare Minerals The Instant Attraction Eyeshadow Quad (Lovescape Collection)

The minute I saw the Bare Minerals The Instant Attraction Eyeshadow Palette (£29), I knew I had to have it. I mean, it's gorgeous and for the most part, it doesn't disappoint.

The eyeshadows have a very soft buttery texture and apply smoothly to the eyes. My least favourite shade is Whirlwind which is a purple beige shadow. I thought it would be a nice matte beige to blend out edges and help prime the lids. Instead, it starts off as a beige but when you blend it, it turns into an iridescent purple pink. I just don't find it flattering and it can be a bit uneven and patchy.

Swatches L-R: Whirlwind, Happenstance, Anticipation and Meant to Be

The rest of the eyeshadows are beautiful and exactly what you would expect for a high end palette. They blend and last well with a primer and I love how vibrant the colours are. My favourite shade is Anticipation which is a shimmery rose pink with gold undertones. It's perfect for all over the lid. Meant to Be is a lovely dark chocolate shade with a fine shimmer. It's pigmented on its own, but I think it's screaming out to be used with Fix Plus. I think applying it with a damp brush would bring out the sparkle and make for the most stunning smokey eye. Happenstance is a bright gold that's perfect for the centre of the lid.

All in all, I'm really impressed with this little palette. I would have loved a matte brown instead of the beige shade, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it. I think it's going to be a nice addition for summer, and I definitely want to try more Bare Minerals makeup.
